The Entrance Hall
The entrance hall forms the centre of the villa — its architectural and cultural point of reference. The Villa, originally conceived as a residence and now restored to be experienced as such, the entry hall shapes the first impression upon entering the building. Historic substance has been preserved and respectfully continued through contemporary design.
At its core stands the grand wooden staircase, rising sculpturally through the space. Carved columns, finely detailed balustrades, and artisanal craftsmanship reflect a time when design and craft were inseparable. The staircase structures the space, guides movement through the house, and visually connects the levels.
A warm rosé tone on the walls lends openness and calm. The hall feels generous, receptive, and quiet. On the gallery level, a lounge area is situated — carpets, graphic patterns, and a custom runner introduce textile accents.
To the right, a contemporary interpretation of a yellow Frankfurt‑style kitchen opens. The walls are adorned with artworks and Fornasetti plates referencing traditional tableware. Fully equipped, the kitchen may be used for exclusive culinary formats, as a community kitchen, or as a private family space.
Historic door portals, fittings, and structural elements remain visible. The entrance hall is an introduction — a place where history, architecture, and the present meet.
Subtle references to the Orient meet Frankfurt’s urban clarity, gently reflecting the cosmopolitan spirit of the Speyer family — always with a view towards The Garden Courtyard.
